The Story Behind Bharosa
Dr. Uday Kiran is a dedicated psychiatrist who earned his MD in Psychiatry at Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad — one of India's most prestigious medical institutions — after completing his MBBS at Kamineni Medical College. He has over 10 years of experience in the healthcare sector, working with patients from diverse medical, social and cultural backgrounds.
During his clinical journey, he witnessed how psychiatric illnesses and addiction disorders remain among the most common yet least addressed health challenges — due to stigma, lack of awareness, and limited access to quality treatment. Driven by compassion and responsibility, he chose psychiatry and de-addiction medicine as his life's mission: to restore dignity, independence and hope to patients and their families.
As he progressed through psychiatry training, he recognised the need for an ethical, comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to mental healthcare — recovery requires much more than medication. That philosophy — psychiatric care, medical stabilisation, psychological therapy, nutrition and lifestyle, rehabilitation, continuous monitoring and family support, together — led to the establishment of Bharosa Neuro-Psychiatry Hospital.
He is also the author of two books — Peace of Mind Formula and 100 Stories of Healing — and is committed to reducing the stigma around mental illness and making care feel approachable.
